To read part of this blog series, <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/17Vr36A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The top pressure that organizations have been continually facing is the corporate mandate to reduce cost and <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.zycus.com\/freshz\/blog\/procurement-technology\/difference-between-purchasing-and-procurement\">increase savings<\/a>. As pointed out by the Aberdeen study, in 2011 <b>60%<\/b> agreed to cost reduction and increased savings being the biggest challenge. This sentiment was further echoed by <b>69%<\/b> in 2012 and <b>72%<\/b> in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The other driving forces for automation in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.zycus.com\/freshz\/solution\/strategic-sourcing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">strategic sourcing<\/a> <\/strong>are;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Need for better category management strategies<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.zycus.com\/freshz\/blog\/procurement-technology\/understanding-the-what-why-how-of-strategic-sourcing\">Rising sourcing risk<\/a> due to supplier performance, fluctuating currency rates, supply chain disruption etc.<\/li>\n<li>Increasing complexity in supply chain due to outsourcing, globalization etc.<\/li>\n<li>Legal obligations to make the supply chain transparent<\/li>\n<li>Need for better visibility into sourcing-related data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In our next blog, we will talk about the common hurdles in achieving smooth <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.zycus.com\/freshz\/solution\/strategic-sourcing\" rel=\"noopener\">eSourcing<\/a> <\/strong>process.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the second part, we will delve upon the factors driving the need for sourcing automation.
